Thanksgiving is the quintessential Protestant religious holiday, right? Our national holiday commemorates the Pilgrim's first Thanksgiving at Plymouth Rock. The Pilgrims were fundamentalist Calvinists who were driven from England by the persecution under the Anglican Crown. They, in turn, despised Catholics. So how did a Catholic get invited to the feast? Listen and you will see that if the Catholic had not showed up, there would have been no feast at all.
