Liturgy Live - 3rd Sunday in Ordinary Time - Hope in Darkness
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
This week we talk about the hope that can be found in desolation. When we are dealing with the mundane and the everyday-ness of life we can tend to lose our drive and excitement in our mission. When we have patience in the desolation and seek to be in a continuous state of grace we can be fruitful even through our times of desolation. Christ is the light and we are called to bear Him to the nations.

How's Your Love Life?
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
We all have a concept of love. From the time we are very young children we have a strong sense of what love is. Our concept of love changes as we get older. But, what is God’s perspective on love? In this podcast Tony discusses love.
Scripture: “Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God. Whoever is without love does not know God, for God is love. In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him. In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as expiation for our sins.” –1 John 4:7-10
We love because he first loved us.” –1 John 4:19
“He said in reply, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” –Luke 10:27
God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.” –1 John 4:16
Reflections: How has your perspective of love changed over the years? What do you do to emulate God’s love? How’s your love life?

Catholic Answers Live - Why Are You Pro Choice?
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Listeners call and share their reason for being pro-choice, whether it be in regards to abortion, end of life care, or other medical actions that affect taking a human life.
Questions Covered:
- 05:18 - I am pro-choice because I believe that there is not a consciousness for life in the early stages of embryonic development.
- 13:24 - I am pro-choice because a woman has a second amendment right to defend herself against her reproductive system.
- 21:53 - If a woman is raped and being pregnant will negatively affect her mental health, is an abortion acceptable? What is she feels so bad that she would possibly commit suicide?
- 24:09 - I am pro-choice because I think this is a religious freedom issue. I wouldn’t end a pregnancy, but I think people are only pro-life because of religion.
- 37:07 - I am pro-choice because if we let every person be born, there wouldn’t be enough resources to take care of them. You care about babies in the womb, but not when they are born.
- 52:32 - I am pro-choice in the case of taking the morning after pill within 24 hours.

Catholic Answers Live - Bioethics
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Wednesday Jan 22, 2020
Is in vitro fertilization ethical? If someone is in great pain, can their life be ended? Find out today, with Fr. Tad Pacholczyk.
Questions Covered:
- 15:22 - What is the best way to explain to people why we chose to conceive via NFP rather than in vitro fertilization? How can I explain the scientific benefit of it, rather than the Catholic side of it?
- 22:12 - Does the embryo in the IVF process have a soul right away, or only as it develops?
- 31:18 - When someone is very sick and weak, isn’t it wrong to withhold food and water from someone so they’ll die? They seem to be so drugged that they can’t make a real decision about whether they want to eat.
- 36:50 - Is in utero insemination sanctioned by the Church?
- 46:57 - If a doctor recommends a hysterectomy to a woman as a necessity, should she attempt to put off the surgery if possible, to remain open to life or is it acceptable to get the surgery when it is recommended?
- 49:48 - What is the Catholic Church’s doctrine on changing human DNA?

Footsteps to Heaven - How the Light of Christ Always Conquers Darkness
Tuesday Jan 21, 2020
Tuesday Jan 21, 2020
Episode #58: What are you concerned about because darkness seems to have taken over? Whatever it is you’re worried about, there is darkness there. But John 1:5 assures us that "Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness does not overcome it." The Light of Christ is always victorious. Jesus came so that we could learn from him and receive from him through his Holy Spirit the same light he has so we can live as victors over every problem and so that we can conquer the devil. Darkness is weaker than light! And during the dark times, God is preparing us for what he wants us to do in the light.
