I did not intend to journey through Addiction today as we continue walking along our path. Addiction was not on my map. It rarely is. On anybody's map. It is not a sought after destination. Still millions find themselves stuck there, broken down and out of gas. In God's world, it doesn't seem to matter what I intend! God put up the Detour Sign and here we go! Today I go, unprepared to detour on the path laid on my heart: Addictions: all shapes and sizes. Drugs, Alcohol, Sex, Work…whatever is your " drug of choice". I read two Blog entries from Addiction Counselor and Blogger: Jim La Pierre: "Why I Hate it When You Drink" and "Recovering for Our Kids Sake". We just barely turn the wheel onto this road. I asked St. Gabriel to be my messenger. How can I say no? Join us, won't you? Maybe there is someone in your life who might be suffering. Maybe it's you. It's ok. There is help, there is hope and there is success! You just have take a detour from your familiar life and begin...
