Dr. Robert Lewis suggests 25 characteristics of a servant-leader.
- Includes his wife in envisioning the future.
- Accepts spiritual responsibility for his family.
- Is willing to say “I’m sorry” and “Forgive me” to his family.
- Discusses household responsibilities with his wife and makes sure they are fairly distributed.
- Seeks consultation with his wife on all major financial decisions.
- Follows through with commitments he has made to his wife.
- Anticipates the different stages his children will pass through.
- Anticipates the different stages his marriage will pass through.
- Frequently tells his wife what he likes about her.

Distraction in Prayer (and the episode) – Episode 122

This whole episode is based off a book Adam read every year called, “Ways of Mental Prayer” by Rev. Abbot Dom Vitalis Lehodey.
The Ways of Mental Prayer ranks as one of the Church s greatest classics on prayer, and was highly recommended as such by Fr. Garrigou-LaGrange, the 20th Century s greatest authority on mystical theology.
Here Dom Lehodey concentrates on the beginning stages of prayer, up through what is called the prayer of quiet, but he also describes the higher forms of prayer as well, including the very summit, or the prayer of union. In the process, he explains the advantages, the joys and—yes— the trials of mental prayer, plus he gives practical instructions on the methods of practicing this type of prayer.
