Clumsy Theosis - Spiritual Warfare and the Armor of God
Monday Apr 19, 2021
Monday Apr 19, 2021
Are you a Child of God? If you are, you're called to fight in a war. A spiritual war. In this episode I tell you what the Church and bible say about it and how to be victorious. Especially using what St. Paul calls "the armor of God." And how exercising the four roles (priest, prophet, king, and bridegroom) of a Child of God gives us power and authority in this fight.
This is the first episode in a series that combines a bible study on the armor of God and spiritual warfare.

Abraham is the man of the hour during week four of our series on salvation history. And there are a lot of moving parts to his story: Before he was Abraham he was Abram. He was called out into the wilderness by God. He's responsible for the practice of circumcision. He sent his illegitimate son away. And was asked by God to slay his only-begotten (legitimate) son as a sacrifice. Are all these events random or do they fit together, and how? Richaél Lucero connects the dots to show the bigger picture at work.

“Ad fontes” is Latin for “back to the sources.” Returning to the sources of the Catholic Church is the best way to learn about the Faith. After the scriptures, St. Ignatius of Antioch is the perfect place to start. He wrote seven letters while escorted to Rome from Antioch to be martyred. They paint a vivid picture of the Catholic Church after the time of the Apostles. Listen as Richaél Lucero points out some of her favorite parts in these need-to-read Catholic letters.

-”The celebration of the Eucharist is valid only if it is administered by the bishop or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Where the bishop is, there let the people also be; just as where Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.” Letter of St. Ignatius to the Smyrnaeans

Please Him under whom you fight, from Whom you receive your wages. Let none of you be found a deserter. Let your baptism be your armour; your faith be your helmet; your love be your spear; your patience as a complete panoply. ...
To sum up: be long-suffering towards one another and gentle, as God is with you.” -Letter of St. Ignatius to St. Polycarp

But they deceive us into thinking the formation of conscience is only for children. In this episode, Richaél Lucero reveals how the conscience is a place of intimate connection with God. Listen and you'll learn how to continue the life-long task of forming your conscience.
