Footsteps to Heaven – Why I believe that THE WARNING is true
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Episode #81: Do you know how to read the signs of the times? In this episode, Terry Modica shares how God has worked in her life to convince her that Jesus is coming soon with a “Warning” for non-believers and a Second Pentecost for the true followers of Christ. Her story begins in 2001 when the scandal of priests sexually molesting children first became public. At that time, Terry felt very strongly that God wants to purge the Church from all sorts of abuses. Since then, the world has become much darker and we are called by God to read the signs of the times as watchmen who have the responsibility of warning others, as commanded in Ezekiel 33:1-9.
Bill Snyder joins this episode because he wants the audiences of his podcast show, Young Catholics Respond, to listen to the previous episode of Footsteps to Heaven, which goes in-depth about “The Warning” (https://gnm.org/paracletia/the-warning-and-other-prophecies/).

She is the daughter a family business titan (her father founded the Sheraton Hotel Chain) and the widow of another, (her late husband was the family business poultry magnate, Frank Perdue), and she is also a businesswoman in her own right. She started the family wine grape business, now one of the larger suppliers of wine grapes in California. Her family of origin (the one that started the Sheraton Hotels) began with the family business, Henderson Estate Company, in 1840, and her Perdue family started in 1920 in the poultry business. These two families have a combined tradition of 276 years of staying together as a family. Mitzi is happy to share actionable advice on how they created and maintained their family businesses.
Mitzi fights human trafficking!
WinThisFight.org is the brainchild of Mitzi Perdue. She seeks to end the scourge of human trafficking by planning to raise money through a variety of fundraisers, an online auction, as well as a live auction set for 2021; an exclusive event to be held at New York City’s premier auction house Sotheby’s. It will target donations in the million-dollar range, aiming to sell items such as works of art, jewelry and sought out collectibles. Sotheby’s will waive commission fees for the cause, resulting in more funding for the anti-trafficking organizations that will be the beneficiaries. Join Mitzi in this fight!

129 Forgiveness: Good for Body, Mind and Soul
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Monday Sep 14, 2020
Welcome to the one hundred and twenty-ninth episode of By Your Life. I’m Lisa Huetteman and I know that you have a hundred different things you could be doing right now, so I thank you for choosing By Your Life.
My goal is to inspire, empower, support, challenge, and encourage you to connect Sunday, with Monday-Friday, in a secular business world. It’s my desire to help you live our Catholic faith in the marketplace. I hope to offer you practical ways to go forth and glorify the Lord by your life.
Holding onto Anger
In this edition, we’ll reflect on the readings for the Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Every Sunday, my husband, mother and I take lunch to my in-laws’ house and we spend a few hours with them talking and sharing a meal. This week, my father-in-law told a story about going to visit his mother. He hadn’t seen her in many months and had driven over 10 hours with two kids in the car and the first words out of her mouth when he walked in the door were, “Albert, can you go to the store and get me some bread?” You could hear the irritation in his voice as he described that event that happened over 50 years ago. I jokingly said to him, “Grandpa, do you think it is time you let that go?” He jokingly responded, “No, I want to hold onto it!”
All kidding aside, the first reading from the Book of Sirach and the Gospel should be a warning to all of us who hold onto resentments. Sirach said, “Wrath and anger are hateful things, yet the sinner hugs them tight.” (Sir 27:30) Then, in the Gospel, Jesus told the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant. If you are human, and you are reading this now, you must admit that there have been times you’ve held onto anger way too long, despite the negative effects it had on you. But, if we are honest, what should concern us even more is that wicked, unforgiving servant who Jesus describes in the parable is us, the ones who have been forgiven, yet refuse to forgive. Why do we do this? Why do we cling to hateful things, refuse to forgive others, and allow ourselves to be consumed by anger?

Saturday Sep 12, 2020

Here you'll find a wealth of human experiences put in words through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Listen and you'll also learn how to navigate the Psalms and use their words, in your conversations with God.
