Thursday Jul 16, 2020
Thursday Jul 16, 2020
Everyone faces doubt, but today it seems that the challenge of unbelief is greater than ever before. Many denounce the Church and her doctrines in the face of objections. While the human leadership of the Church hasn’t always been perfect throughout her history, the Church herself is nothing less than God’s invitation into His divine family. Scott Hahn looks at why we should believe in God’s promise of His Church.

Differences of opinion in a marriage are healthy if you can find a compromise that works for both of you. Being on the same page is important in all areas, especially as you plan for retirement.
Maybe one of you wants to move closer to the grandkids and the other wants to move to a deserted tropical island. Where you’ll live and what you plan to do is a conversation that needs to start long before that last day at work.
The Compass Catholic blog has more ideas about planning for a happy, productive retirement.

God Grants Mulligans
Wednesday Jul 15, 2020
Wednesday Jul 15, 2020
Every week, when I tee it up with my buddies, we have an unwritten rule that everyone get a mulligan. A mulligan is basically a do-over, a second chance to redeem ourselves from a really bad shot. God is that way with sin. In this podcast Tony’s discusses forgiveness.
Scripture: If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing. 1 John 1:9
Have mercy on me, God, in accord with your merciful love; in your abundant compassion blot out my transgressions. Thoroughly wash away my guilt; and from my sin cleanse me. Psalm 51 NAB
If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions. Matthew 6:14-15
Reflection: Do you ever think that your sins are unforgivable? We all have core sins, do you confess the same sins over and over again? Does that fact that God forgives a humble sinner give you a feeling that with God you can do all things?

How Old Is Your Church? with Ken Litchfield
Wednesday Jul 15, 2020
Wednesday Jul 15, 2020
Apologist and author Ken Litchfield joins me on the program this week. We discuss his book and some common objections to Catholicism. He answers the question of what church did Christ establish and where we got the Bible. It os very informative.
About Ken's book:
This book is an introductory guide to the Catholic Faith. It is great guide for new Catholics, fallen away Catholics and cradle Catholics. It would be very useful supplement for a confirmation class or an RCIA class. This book explains what the Catholic Church teaches in plain language for the regular pew sitter. It explains the Old Testament Jewish roots of Catholic teachings and the New Testament references for Catholic teachings. As a bonus I provide quotes from early Christian teachers that give the a Catholic interpretation of the Old and New Testaments before 500AD. The book is laid out to take a person from pagan to Catholic in 100 pages or an individual chapter can be read on its own. This book is a first step into the field of Catholic Apologetics with plenty of references for further study.

Footsteps to Heaven - Revelation 3:16 - An important message from Jesus for today
Wednesday Jul 15, 2020
Wednesday Jul 15, 2020
Episode #78: I'd like to share with you the scripture from the book of Revelations that I think is probably the most important scripture for today's times. It's Revelations 3:16. And let’s look at it from the perspective of another 3:16 – John 3:16. “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish, but might have eternal life.” Today the world is so full of evil doings that many people are perishing. Jesus has strong words for us about this in Revelation 3:16. Listening to this episode is extremely important right now.
